A new horned native bee, Megachile Lucifer, has been discovered in Western Australia's Goldfields during a survey of a rare wildflower. The species stood out due to its tiny, devil-like facial horns. DNA analysis confirmed it was previously unknown. Discoverer Dr Kit Prendergast named it after the Netflix show Lucifer, which she was watching while writing up the species description.
