Tiny DNA tweaks made snakes legless: Study

Netherlands-based scientists recently found that the predecessors of modern snakes lost their legs and became limbless due to genetic tweaks. They found that the gradual mutations in DNA, located near a gene which is important for limb formation, keep that gene from turning on, leading to the evolutionary trend of limb reduction in snakes.
