The Tirupati Balaji temple management on Monday deposited 1,311 kg of gold with the Punjab National Bank under the three-year short term Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS). As per reports, the temple is believed to be the richest temple in the world. According to an official, the temple is estimated to receive devotees' offerings worth around ₹1,000 crore this year.
