A heated exchange took place between TMC and BJP supporters in Dinhata, Cooch Behar, during vote counting in West Bengal, prompting central forces to carry out a lathicharge to control the situation. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Jalpaiguri, Anjali Singh, said the situation in Cooch Behar was under control. Clashes were also reported in Asansol and Bankura.
