Tamil Nadu CM Vijay-led TVK government cancelled a ₹16.83-lakh tender for a 30,000-litre overhead water tank in Kancheepuram district. This came after DMK alleged the short six-hour bidding window aimed to favour a particular contractor in "pre-planned contract politics". The tender, posted at 9 am on May 19 with a submission deadline of 3 pm, was cancelled for "administrative reasons".
