TN passes resolution against delimitation, urges freeze on LS seats at 543

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution against the proposed delimitation exercise. The state government urged the Centre to permanently fix the strength of Lok Sabha at 543. "The 33% reservation for women should be implemented in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections itself, based on the existing 543 constituencies," CM Vijay said while speaking in the Assembly.
