The Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has sought an explanation from the District Collector Tirupathur over the ban on beef and pork from the Ambur Biryani festival. The commission had called the move in the food festival, which was organised by the district administration, discriminatory against the SC, ST and the Muslim community.
