A 78-year-old woman died after her son allegedly ripped the gold studs from her ears during an assault in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvannamalai district. Police said he attacked her after she refused to give him money for alcohol. She suffered severe injuries and died three days later. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
