Tokyo Olympics face shortage of medical staff as COVID-19 cases rise

Ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in July, Japan is facing a shortage of doctors and medical staff amid a surge in COVID-19 cases. Organisers had initially planned to have about 10,000 doctors, nurses and medical staff on standby for the Games but they had to cut it to about 7,000 as they'll be needed to handle ongoing outbreaks.
