Tomatoes unlikely to cause kidney stones: Expert

Tomatoes contain a tiny amount of oxalates, too low to single-handedly cause kidney stones in most people, says expert dietitian Garima. Eating them in normal amounts as part of a balanced diet isn’t linked to stones. Stones may form only if you overconsume oxalate-rich foods and stay dehydrated. Hydration and overall diet matter more than tomatoes alone.
