Major US law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, which charges clients up to $3,000 (over ₹2 lakh) per hour, has apologised to a judge for submitting a court filing with AI-generated errors. The bankruptcy-related filing had fake citations caused by AI "hallucinations", instances where AI produces fabricated or incorrect data. Rival firm Boies Schiller Flexner had flagged the mistakes.
