Amid heavy rainfall in Karnataka's Bengaluru, a toxic foam containing chemicals like nitrates, potassium and sulphates, started to overflow from the Bellandur lake. Similar incidents have taken place many times in the recent past and the National Green Tribunal had also directed an immediate and complete shutdown of 76 polluting industries around the lake in April.
