The son of Toyota Founder Kiichiro Toyoda and father of current CEO Akio Toyoda, Shoichiro Toyoda, died of heart failure at the age of 97 on Tuesday. "Shoichiro Toyoda raised Toyota to become the world's top automaker," Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said. Shoichiro joined Toyota in 1952 and headed its expansion into manufacturing in the US.
