A joint forum of 10 central trade unions has called a nationwide general strike, 'Bharat bandh,' on July 9 to oppose the central government's policies. Over 25 crore workers from sectors like transport, banking, insurance, postal services, and coal mining are expected to participate in the strike. Trade unions are also opposing the imposition of four new labour codes.
