TRAI issued an advisory cautioning public about a rise in cyber fraud and financial scams involving the misuse of its name. The frauds include impersonation of TRAI officials through calls, messages, forged documents and fraudulent letterheads to coerce/threaten individuals into sharing personal information. TRAI further said that they do not request for Aadhaar card, bank account details or OTP.
