TRAI tightens anti-spam rules, introduces AI-based detection
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced anti-spam rules under which telecom operators will use AI-based methods to identify numbers with a high likelihood of spam activity. The rules state that if five or more numbers associated with a sender are flagged within 10 days, further investigation will take place. TRAI has also introduced a consumer appeal mechanism.
