India is preparing to run trains at speeds up to 220 kmph on its first indigenous semi high-speed rail corridor between Ahmedabad and Dholera in Gujarat. The ₹20,667 crore project, approved by the Union Cabinet, aims to dramatically cut travel time. The 134-km double-line corridor is expected to be completed by 2030-31.
