Transplanted hearts may adapt to recipient's biological age: Study
Transplanted hearts may change to match the recipient's biological age, a new study has found. Researchers conducted heart transplants in mice, finding young hearts aged faster in older mice, while old hearts appeared younger in younger mice. The team then analysed biopsy samples from 11 heart transplants and found human hearts also changed to more closely match the recipients' ages.
