The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) in Kerala has applied to the Guinness World Records, claiming that an elephant under its care is the world’s oldest living elephant. The 86-year-old elephant, called Dakshayani, was reportedly gifted to the TDB by the erstwhile royals of Travancore. Currently, the world’s oldest documented elephant is an 85-year-old in Taiwan.
