Donald Trump is set to become first Republican presidential candidate in 20 years to win popular vote- the number/percentage of votes cast for a candidate nationwide- in US elections, reports said. Before him, Republican George W Bush won popular vote in 2004. In 2016, Trump failed to win popular vote against Hillary Clinton, despite winning presidency with 304 electoral votes.
