The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning for parts of Russia and North Korea after a 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit Japan earlier today. Following the earthquake and aftershocks, the first tsunami waves, some more than a metre high, arrived on the north coast of central Japan. The Japanese government has set up a special emergency centre to assist people.
