Turkey gifts Mexico a German Shepherd after dog dies in quake duty

Turkey gifted Mexico a German Shepherd puppy as a token of gratitude following the death of a Mexican rescue dog, Proteo, who had been helping to find survivors of February's earthquakes near the Syrian border. The three-month-old puppy will join Mexico's canine unit and has been named 'Arkadas', which means 'friend' in Turkish. Proteo had rescued at least two people.
