Turkey's Health Ministry fined and suspended over 100 doctors for performing caesarean section (C-section) deliveries, Turkish newspaper BirGun reported. The doctors have been ordered to undergo mandatory training as C-sections in the country rose to 615 procedures out of every 1,000 live births. Turkey prohibited private hospitals from performing C-sections without a medical reason in April 2025.
