The Mumbai police have registered a case after TV actor Mahesh Thakur was cheated of ₹5.43 crore on the pretext of payment for court fees, legal counselling and other formalities in a legal case. As per the police, Thakur had hired the accused to represent him in a property dispute case. When Thakur asked for the receipts, the accused disappeared.
