Twitter has suspended an account impersonating news agency ANI after it falsely tweeted that Twitter will be banned in India from Wednesday. The fake claim by the suspended handle @ANINewsIndia was shared by many users, including prominent journalists, before it was taken down. The incident comes on the due date for social media companies to comply with new IT rules.
