Two 28-year-old Japanese boxers die after brain injuries at same event

Two Japanese boxers died after suffering brain injuries in separate bouts at the same event in Tokyo on August 2. Super featherweight Shigetoshi Kotari and lightweight Hiromasa Urakawa, both aged 28, collapsed after their respective fights at Korakuen Hall. They underwent emergency brain surgeries but couldn't be saved. Kotari died on August 8, while Hiromasa passed away on August 9.
