Scientists have discovered two new slender-armed frog species from Arunachal Pradesh - Leptobrachium somani and Leptobrachium mechuka. Published in the journal PeerJ, the study highlights the Brahmaputra River as a key biogeographical barrier. One species is named in honour of late journalist E Somanath, marking a significant addition to India’s amphibian diversity.
