A team led by the Natural History Museum of Utah's Eric Rickart has identified two new species of the 'tweezer-beaked hopping rats' or shrew-rats on mountains in the Philippines' island of Luzon. "They hop around on their sturdy hind legs and large hind feet, almost like little kangaroos," Rickart said. The new species are named Rhynchomys labo and Rhynchomys mingan.
