On Sunday, two SSLC students drowned in the Bhadra Canal of Chikkamagaluru district in Karnataka. The victims, identified as Panduranga and Yathindra, had visited the village for the weekend. While near the canal, Yathindra lost his footing and slipped into the water. Panduranga, driven by instinct to save his friend, jumped in to help. Unfortunately, the strong current overpowered both of them.
