Two students, Pundalik Mulimani (17) and Mahesh (16), tragically drowned in the Bhima River in Kalaburagi's Afzalpur taluk after visiting Mannur Yellamma temple. Strong currents from recent heavy rains swept them away. Despite local attempts to rescue them, both boys died. Police recovered the bodies, conducted post-mortems, and warned the public to avoid rivers during high water levels.
