Uber Eats to use sidewalk robots to deliver food in Miami

Uber announced that it will soon deploy sidewalk robots to deliver food to Uber Eats customers in US' Miami. The six-wheeled delivery robots will come from Cartken, an Oakland-based AI company founded by a team of ex-Google engineers. The robots are electric and have a trunk that can fit around 10 kilos of cargo, The Verge reported.

What is known about HMPV?

The human metapneumovirus or HMPV was first discovered in 2001 and it can cause upper and lower respiratory diseases, especially among young children, older adults and those having compromised immune systems. To date, no vaccine for it is available. CDC said HMPV is most active during late winter and spring in temperate climates. It can circulate with RSV and influenza.

8 jawans among 9 dead as Naxals blow up vehicle in Chhattisgarh

Nine people, including eight District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans, lost their lives in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur on Monday, officials said. One deceased person was the driver of the vehicle that was blown up, allegedly by a group of Naxalites, Bastar Inspector General said. The deceased persons were returning after a joint operation of Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur.

Sensex closed over 1,200 points lower on Monday as the index fell below the 78,000 level after India reported its first HMPV cases. Meanwhile, Nifty also closed nearly 400 points lower, dipping close to the 23,600 level. The top Sensex losers included Tata Steel, NTPC and Kotak Mahindra Bank while top Nifty losers included Trent, Bharat Petroleum and Coal India.

India reports 3rd case of HMPV in 2-month-old baby in Ahmedabad

A two-month-old baby has tested positive for HMPV in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, taking the total number of infected persons in India to three. The baby is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital, with state Health Minister Rushikesh Patel saying, "This virus will be treated with same protocol as coronavirus." The two other HMPV cases in India were reported from Karnataka.

Sensex crashes 1,300 points intraday after India reports 2 HMPV cases

Mumbai-based Sensex dipped nearly 1,300 points intraday after Karnataka reported India's first two cases of HMPV in babies. The index fell to a day's low of 77,959.95 from yesterday's close of 79,223.11 before marginally paring losses to trade at 78,200. Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Asian Paints were top losers on Sensex.

The first case of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) was reported in India amid spike in cases in China as an eight-month-old tested positive in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, reports said the child doesn't have any travel history. "The reports have come from a private hospital and we have no reason to doubt the tests," a source from the state Health Department reportedly said.

Russia attacks Ukraine with over 100 drones
