Ride-hailing giant Uber has launched a boat taxi service 'UberBOAT' in Nigeria's most populous city Lagos, having a population of around 22 million people. Uber launched a two-week test in conjunction with a local boat operator and Lagos State Waterways Authority to ease the city's road traffic congestion. Earlier this year, Uber had piloted the boat taxi service in Mumbai.
