Uber, Lyft to offer shares to some drivers in IPO: Report

Ride-hailing giants Uber and Lyft are planning to offer some of their 'most-active' or 'longest-serving' drivers cash bonuses alongside an option to buy stock in their Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), WSJ reported. Uber's past attempts to do the same have faced resistance from regulators, because drivers are classed as contractors, not employees. The IPOs are expected to occur this year.
