As pre-budgetary discussions commence with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, companies including Uber and Paytm have asked for restructuring of KYC norms and a reduction in GST on term insurance. Startups including Uber have demanded the removal of the 1% on payments to suppliers under the GST regime. Discussions over public governance and tax sops to startups were also taken place.
