Uber on Friday announced that it will suspend its UberPOP taxi-hailing application in France following violent protests against the company. Taxi drivers injured seven policemen and damaged 70 cars in their protest against the application, which they claim threatens their livelihood with unfair competition by avoiding regulations. Italy and Germany had banned the application earlier in 2015.
