UCSF study finds cancer drugs may reverse Alzheimer’s damage

Researchers at UCSF and Gladstone Institutes have found that two FDA-approved cancer drugs, letrozole and irinotecan, may reverse gene damage linked to Alzheimer. Published in Cell, the study showed these drugs improved memory and reduced brain degeneration in mice, offering a potential breakthrough in treating the neurodegenerative disease.
