UK regulator lays down new rules for Google to boost competition

UK's Competition and Markets Authority has laid down new rules for Google to boost fair competition. The new rules require Google to provide more transparency into how its search results are ranked and allow users to transfer their search data to authorised third parties. The regulator earlier designated the firm with "strategic market status", allowing it to set targeted rules.
