A court in the United Kingdom on Thursday rejected an appeal made by four tobacco companies against the plain packaging of cigarettes. The appeal was rejected a day before a rule, which would make it compulsory for cigarettes to have plain packages, is due to come into force. The rule is expected to make smoking less attractive.
