UK's public health system cites 'benefits' of marrying 1st cousins despite genetic risk to kids

UK's NHS was criticised for publishing an article citing "various benefits" of first-cousin marriage, like "stronger extended family support systems and economic advantages," despite the hereditary genetic risk posed to the children. It said this was "fairly common" among British Pakistanis. "NHS should stop taking the knee to...oppressive cultural practices," Conservative MP Richard Holden said.
