In a move to toughen "broken" immigration system, UK PM Keir Starmer plans to tighten English tests for all visa applicants and their adult dependants. Migrants will have to wait for ten years, instead of five, before they can apply for citizenship. However, a "fast-track" settlement will be set up for highly skilled workers, including nurses, engineers and AI experts.
