UK's longest earthworm killed for museum preservation

A 40-cm long earthworm, biggest ever found in the UK, has been killed so that it can be preserved and put on display at London's Natural History Museum. Nicknamed Dave, the worm weighed 26 grams, five times heavier and three times longer than an average earthworm. Notably, the previous record-holder was as long as Dave but weighed half as much.
