Ultra-processed foods linked to higher risk of developing dementia: Study

People consuming high amounts of ultra-processed foods may be at higher risk of developing dementia than others, a study stated. Ultra-processed food like soft drinks, chips, ice cream, sausage and ketchup are low in protein and fibre, and high in sugar, fat and salt. They may contain food additives or molecules that have negative effects on thinking and memory skills.
