The United Nations (UN) will adopt 17 new development goals for the year 2030 which include 'ending poverty in all its forms from everywhere'. Some other goals in the list are - ensuring food security, promoting well-being, ensuring quality education, achieving gender equality and building resilient infrastructure. These goals will replace the eight 'Millennium Development Goals' adopted in 2000.
