United Nations called for accountability over the crackdown by Pakistani authorities on protesters in PoK, saying the fundamental right to peaceful assembly must be respected. “If there have been people harmed for engaging in peaceful protest, there needs to be accountability for that,” UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq said. Over 40 people have been killed in PoK since July 27.
