The United Nations (UN) praised the efforts by Indian peacekeepers deployed in South Sudan for reopening the flood-hit Malakal-Renk supply route via New Paloich. "A new road alignment through Akoka-Kilo 20-Paloich-Renk now provides safe access, enhancing mobility and humanitarian efforts," it said. Flooding in South Sudan last year had affected 13.5 lakh people, displacing nearly 3.7 lakh people.
