Unacademy, once valued at $3.44 billion, sold to upGrad for $200 million

Ronnie Screwvala-led upGrad has completed its acquisition of Gaurav Munjal-led Unacademy for $200 million, the latter announced on Tuesday. "Six years ago today, Unacademy became a unicorn...We raised at a peak, but sold at a fraction of that," Munjal said, referring to Unacademy's peak valuation of $3.44 billion. The two startups had earlier reached an impasse over valuation differences.
