Rajasthan Royals' 14-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi on Monday smashed the fastest hundred by an Indian in IPL history. Suryavanshi reached the three-figure mark off 35 balls against Gujarat Titans. He broke the previous record held by Yusuf Pathan, who took 37 deliveries to smash his hundred while playing for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2010.

Gold prices declined ₹1,000 to ₹98,400 per 10 grams in Delhi on Monday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday declared a three-day ceasefire in Ukraine between May 8 and 10. The Kremlin said it expects Ukraine to follow through the ceasefire, but has said that they would respond if the ceasefire is violated. An experiment to dim the Sun to curb global warming is expected to be approved by UK government in coming weeks, Telegraph reported. Amid tensions with Pakistan, India has signed a ₹63,000 crore deal to buy 26 Rafale-M fighter jets from France. The agreement includes 22 single-seater Rafale-M jets and four twin-seater trainers, with deliveries starting in a few years and expected to be completed by 2031. The Rafale-M jets will operate from INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya.
