Underwater solar panels hit 35% efficiency at 10 m depth
Yunnan University researchers have developed underwater solar panels achieving nearly 35% efficiency — surpassing conventional solar cell limits. In a 2-hour test, the submerged panels generated enough power to light an LED for hours. Tested at depths up to 10 metres, this marks the first functional validation of submerged solar cells, potentially expanding clean ocean energy applications.
