The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday approved the appointment of Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey as SEBI's next Chairman. He will be SEBI's Chairman for a period of 3 years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Pandey will succeed Madhabi Puri Buch as SEBI chief.

Suspected terror attack in Israel as vehicle runs into people, many injured

A vehicle hit several pedestrians in North Israel on Thursday, injuring at least 10 people, in a suspected terror attack, local media reports said. The attacker, identified as an Israeli Arab, was shot and killed by police at the scene, reports added. At least one of those targeted is said to be in a critical condition.

Pakistan a failed state surviving on foreign aid: India at UN
