Union Bank of India announced on Saturday that it cut its base rate by 35 basis points to 9.65%, with effect from October 5. Union Bank also announced the moderation of its deposit rates. Meanwhile, Vijaya Bank also announced a base rate cut of 20 basis points to 9.65%, with effect from October 8.
